Thank you for visiting my blog!  My name is Katy, and here's a little bit about me:

I am a mixed martial arts enthusiast through and through.  I grew up watching boxing fights with my family when my dad used to train as an amateur.  Some of my favorite boxers at the time were Oscar de la Hoya, Manny Pacquiao, and Wladimir Klitschko.  As I got older, I got into boxing and jiu jitsu myself, taking self defense BJJ classes in college and training in boxing almost daily in 2019.  I unfortunately was sidelined by multiple hip surgeries in 2020 and wasn't able to compete in either jiu jitsu or boxing.  It is my hope that I can get back into these sports just for fun!

Even though my love for mixed martial arts started at an early age, it wasn't until about 2018 that I started to watch MMA fights and follow the sport more seriously.  I dug into everything about it, including its history, understanding the major promotions like the UFC, current prominent athletes and their histories, rules and judging, and the many different styles the sport encompasses.  Today, it's rare that I miss any UFC event and I been to multiple events live, including the inaugural Noche UFC event in 2023.  Some of my favorite fighters in the promotion include Valentina Shevchenko, Gilbert Burns, Miranda Maverick, and Charles Oliviera.  I also enjoy watching Invicta FC and the PFL.  As my knowledge base has grown, I have really enjoyed watching MMA fights beyond just the entertainment aspect, now with the ability to understand the intricacies during a fight and make predictions.  I started this blog with the goal to connect with other MMA fans of all kinds to share our passion for the sport.
